And so, the cat’s out of the bag, y’all! The Aslam clan is expanding — yet again — and this time by two tiny feet instead of four furry ones, haha.
Thank you to all of you incredible people for the love, wishes, and happy thoughts sent our way. We are so thrilled and excited to see Sofia become a big sister! And now, because I’ve had a bunch of questions from how I told Amir to how far along I am now, let me finallllly catch y’all up on the deets.
HOW DID YOU TELL AMIR?
When I was home in September, towards the end of the trip, I felt off. The no energy, extremely tired thing that was going on was my first indication that a pregnancy test might be necessary. Unfortunately, Amir was already back in Amsterdam when all this started happening, so I made the decision to test late one night. And y’all let me tell you, DON’T EVER TEST AT 10:30 PM because, hello, that means it’s only 5:30 am in Amsterdam 🤣
I saw the pink lines pop up and immediately was ready to call Amir. But, to be a good wife, I figured I’d get in touch with him when he woke up for the day. So I sent him a text saying that I was wide awake and to give me a call when he got up so we could chat while he got ready.
Here’s how that went down:
Hahahahaha. I saw the little text dots show up and go away a couple of times before the phone started ringing and I heard Amir going “WHAAATTTTT!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! THIS IS AWESOME!” The excitement was so real for us and it was such a fun way to surprise Amir in the morning. And yes, I totally zonked out after our call, lol.
HOW FAR ALONG ARE YOU?
I am 22-ish weeks! Time has been flying by with this little nugget and I can’t believe we’re already more than halfway there. Insanity, I tell ya.
Also, that bump popped outta nowhere! It was like a bloated bump for forever and then boom, now I’ve got a belly.
FEELING BETTER OR WORSE THAN THE FIRST TIME AROUND?
Uhhh, it definitely started off worse this round. I was nauseous and throwing up for much longer this time — and the nausea is still hanging around. My appetite has also been super weird and I’ll either find myself not eating at all or feeling like I need to eat everything.
Other than that, energy levels are starting to stabilize (I mean, as much as they can with a toddler running around the house, haha) and I’m making it to my workouts multiple times a week too!
NERVOUS ABOUT ANYTHING?
I mean, of course! Already having Sofia and knowing how much work it takes to care for a little human has me crossing my fingers that we’ll do it well this time around too. But, we’re super excited & know that it’s going to be so fun to have another little babe to love on.
And I cannot wait to see how LB adjusts and reacts to the new nugget because she is a total baby-lovin’ soul!
And there ya have it, friends! A little peek inside where I’m at with round 2. Just like the first time, I won’t be updating every week of my pregnancy, but I’ll pop in randomly with updates for those who want it 💁🏻
OH, and since Sofia was Little Bean (LB, which has stuck around) I need y’all to help me pick something for this one. So, let me know your thoughts and help me out, ‘kay?!
