that life thing

hello? is this thing on?

Well, well, well — you get 100 points if you read that with Matthew McConaughey’s voice — it’s been a while since I’ve been around these parts, and I have to say, I’ve been missing it.

A few weeks ago, I sat down to write a post and then life happened. So, instead of making this a super in-depth post about all my thoughts on important things, let’s just have ourselves a little catch-up, shall we?

time for a catch up

If we were having hot cocoa together, I’d tell you…

+ Things have been changing left & right lately. I feel like as soon as I settle down with one thing, something else changes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m good with embracing things as they come, but uh, just a little slow down on things shifting around me would be great.

+ We moved apartments fairly unexpectedly (and quickly) last week. It was the best thing ever. I love this new place. The view, the quietness, the openness of this place gives me all the good feels. That picture below is a completely unedited photo of what I get to look at daily. Swoon, right?

view from new apartment

+ I love going to Houston to see everyone, but having my parents come visit me on my turf makes me incredibly happy. They love to travel and wander, so they make it easy for me to show them around but it also gives me time to do what I need to. And there’s absolutely nothing better than having them around when life gets insane & a sudden move needs to happen, haha. Whether she was playing with Sofia and keeping her out of trouble, or packing, or unpacking and setting up the new place, this move would’ve been near impossible without my momma!

+ We went to Barcelona a couple of weekends ago…and, deep breath for an unpopular opinion, I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be. The stuff we saw was pretty and all, but my favorite part actually turned out to be the beach. I also felt like we had a super tough time finding good food (we’re not pork eaters and everythingggg had pork in it) so there’s that. Oh well, some places you fall in love with, others you appreciate while you’re there, right?

And because I’ve talked so much about me already, let me also just say…

+ That you are freakin’ awesome. In case anyone hasn’t told you lately, you are.

you are awesome quote

So, catch me up on your life lately, friends! I’ve missed y’all and need you back in my life!

That’s definitely true! I don’t mind change, but I do prefer it to come in pieces haha. I’m so glad to be all settled into our new place. It’s definitely exactly what we needed! xo
