Coffee Chatter: Part II

Hiiii my little chalupas (thanks Kerri for that, haha)! While I’ve super missed all of you lovely people, I’ve going to be honest here. Something about leaving this space behind for a couple of weeks at a time really helps rebalance my inner thoughts.

I’ll explain more in our coffee chat, okay?

Coffee Chatter | That Girl Myra

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE, I’D TELL YOU…

| That sometimes the online world of blogging & social media becomes too much for me. It seems like too many people are out to be like everyone else and the genuineness (is that even right?! lol) is lost. A little reset now & again does my inner self a lot of good.

| My middle brother is coming to visit in August 🎉and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to show him around Europe because he is as infatuated with it as I am. To my youngest bro — we’re going to miss you!!! 🙁

| In the quiet time I’ve had away from bloglandia, I have done a lot of reading. Haha! There are times I get so busy that I forget how much I enjoy escaping to another world. I’ll be doing a book roundup soon!

| There are two super fun giveaways coming up in the next couple of weeks! Trust me, you’ll want to check back. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to remind y’all before it happens.

| I have been working on cleaning up my eating habits and I’m proud to report that I’m seeing results, haha. One day at a time, one meal at a time.

| Ramadan is starting soon and I am worried. I’ve never fretted about it before, but I haven’t fasted in 2 years. The hours are extremely long for fasting here, so I’m currently trying to do research to learn about what the correct way to approach that is.

| Work has been busy, busy, freaking busy. And.I.couldn’t.be.more.proud. We started this business from thin air, y’all. Now we have clients and meetings and actual work to do. There’s something about being an entrepreneur and watching your business become a reality that is absolutely incredible.

And because I can’t leave out LB updates…

Coffee Chatter | LB Update

| Sofia is getting bigger, funnier, and more naughty by the day. She goes everywhere she’s not supposed to and thinks it’s funny to test my patience.

| She says ‘no’ to everything, laughs like a hyena, and waves/says ‘hi’ to everyone she crosses paths with.

| Ice cream has become her favorite food item and she consistently yells “ice” during the day 😂 hoping that I might just give in. (Even with those gorgeous eyes, I stay strong and don’t hand out ice cream.)

| Kobi is her best friend, but he doesn’t know it yet. She gives him hugs & kisses and tries really hard to bribe his love by throwing food she doesn’t want over to him. Unfortunately for LB, Kobi is still only at the “I will only tolerate you, human” stage.

And there you have it folks! I hope your coffee was strong and that my incessant chatter helped kick start your day on the right foot.

Now, catch me up on what you’ve been up to!

Blogging breaks are so needed! I’ve been blogging since 2012, but took a break for almost a year because I was overwhelmed with the environment. Getting away from it definitely helps solidify your personal goals and enjoyment for blogging. Sofia is so cute! I can totally relate to her love for ice cream, ha ha.

I know what you mean and totally agree about the need for blogging breaks. I guess if we’re being technical about it I’ve been blogging since like 2008, longer if you count LJ and MySpace blogs (ack!) and I’ve taken several breaks–some lasting months or even over a year. I love blogging and the community I’m in, but like everything else, it deserves to be evaluated now and again to see what’s good about it and what needs a change. I took a short break recently and redid my whole layout so that my page would just be about the words. I’m not about sponsorships and promoting anymore and my social media has little or nothing to do with my blog, because that’s just where I’m at–a place of trying to be much more genuine with my posts than I was for a while. Anyway, I’m rambling now, but breaks and adjustments are a good thing 😉

I’m so happy your business is kicking so much butt. You girls deserve all the success! As for little miss Bean, your Insta stories of her always make me LOL. She is just so damn cute and expressive! Her dance moves are the best.

That pic of Sofia is hysterical.

I haven’t been reading at all. I really need to remedy this soon.

Your daughter is so so PRECIOUS. I love seeing vids of her on IG 🙂 And I’m kinda taking a break from blogging right now, too. It happens from time to time, but lately I’m feeling like I have no motivation, new material to conjure up anddddddddd engagement seems WAY down. Oh well, time to enjoy summer I guess!
